Ses Portes tower and walk through Ses Salines

by Parque Natural de ses Salines (Govern balear) · Sant Josep de sa Talaia

Flat walk through the Ses Salines Natural Park to the Ses Portes defence tower, between Es Cavallet and the salt pans.

About

The Ses Portes tower, dating from the 16th century according to the island's tourism site, stands where Es Cavallet beach ends and the salt pans begin, looking out to Formentera and Es Freus. It lies within the Ses Salines Natural Park, a protected area run by the Balearic government. You see it and walk around it from outside: no official source covers interior access or opening hours. Free parking is limited and there are paid areas; wear shoes for a stony shore. Not to be confused with the Ses Salines interpretation centre.
