Ca na Costa Megalithic Tomb

by Consell Insular de Formentera · Formentera

Bronze Age prehistoric monument beside Estany Pudent, with free and easy access, inside the ses Salines Natural Park.

About

The Consell presents it as the most spectacular prehistoric monument in the Balearics: a circular burial chamber of large slabs, surrounded by concentric circles and radial elements that give it a star-like look. It was found in 1974 and dated to around 2000 BC; locals call it es Rellotge. It lies between Estany Pudent and Es Pujols, with free and easy access. The official site suggests going early in the morning or at sunset because of the heat. Opening hours: not stated, it is an open-air site. Respect the stones and do not climb on them.
